Social Media names Debora Coelho 2016 Asshole of the Year

A select committee of Social Media's most illiterate and xenophobic leaders gathered at a clandestine location have announced the unanimous selection of City Councilor Debora Coelho of New Bedford as the winner of the prestigious Asshole of the Year award for 2016. Coelho once again voted to increase taxes on New Bedford citizens (after voting herself a 44% pay hike in 2012). In spite of receiving an excellent salary and benefits package which includes a pension (for doing nothing), Debora is still angry.

A number of candidates were considered but Coelho became the leading candidate after a bizarre deranged narcissistic rant in the New Bedford council chambers on November 22. Coelho got royally bent out of shape after concerned New Bedford citizens began calling her about her proposed measure which would lead to safe haven for illegal immigrants.

The only real debate within the committee was weather to characterize Debora's rant as vain and narcissistic, or rageful.  The committee was especially impressed with the sphincteral pretending to protect immigrant children while actually making it All About Debora. Debora heaped praise upon herself for being selected as Chairwoman of Safety, for being highly educated, for reading newspapers from other states, and most of all, for being the only one who cares about starving immigrant children. Most agreed that the highlight of the rant was the contempt for Social Media, free speech, the constitution, the rule of law, "uneducated" voters, and in particular Mike of New Bedford Guide.

With her closing remark "I will not tolerate it!" and threatening finger pointing, Debora implied that she would use her political power to make sure that anyone standing in her way would wind up in the hospital, prison, or the bottom of New Bedford Harbor. None of the other candidates came close to this level of Sphincteral Perfection. To achieve this level of delusion and paranoia, most people have to reach the position of POTUS. It took real guts and determination on Coelho's part to work herself up into this sort of frenzy as a lowly city councilor.

But there is more.

As Trustee for her mother's property, Debora managed to get her mother's home at 32 Bullard Street condemned. In 2016, the property was Taken by the city of New Bedford for Tax Delinquency. It takes a true asshole like Coelho to turn a valuable asset into a burden for the taxpayers.

But there is more.

Debora's mother Maria N. Amaral passed away in 2016 and Debora attempted to hijack the funeral away from other family members and make it All About Debora.

One committee member stated that Debora started off 2016 slowly. She mostly just warmed a seat in the New Bedford city council chambers. But as the months passed, she began making more insensitive remarks about the homeless, veterans, and those struggling with addictions. This lead to idiotic motions presented and increasing anger whenever anyone disagreed with her. Debora finished 2016 with a frenzy of narcissism and rage making her the 2016 Asshole of the Year.
